by a group of innovative Finnish companies. They joined forces to provide new service concepts
for international airports by combining and complementing their products and services. There are

Project Information

Airport Concepts 6/2011-12/2013 project aims to develop new service concepts for international airports by combining and complementing the products and services of Airport Cluster Finland members and the participating companies and their business partners. In addition to developing new service concepts the project aims to develop practical tools to strengthen the international business of the companies.
The Project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and its total budget is 900 000€. The contribution of participating companies is 5000€ (+VAT) per company. The execution time is 6/2011 - 12/2013.

During the project the developed turnkey service concepts are also test marketed in the Airport&Aviation Events and fairs to collect the real customer expectations and feedback.

Results and impacts of the project:

  • Will create new business opportunities in the international markets with new operating models and innovative development
  • Pilots will generate new know-how, which can be used in business
  • Companies can exploit the project results in international business start-up and marketing, as well as joint work with their partners
  • The participating businesses will be able to offer more holistic solutions, which can be utilized as new business opportunities
  • Researchers can take advantage of the project by developing expertise in marketing, training and future corporate R&D co-operation
  • The Finnish airport industry will become more internationally competitive, the business opportunities of supporting industry sectors and sub-contractors  will increase and the industry will be able to employ more and more due to business growth and internationalization
